Accomplishments

Here are the honors, awards, and certifications that I have earned during my undergraduate studies.

FRED Scholarship (J. Benedict Ackley Scholarship)

As a senior at Middleburgh High School, I was awarded with the J. Benedict Ackley Scholarship through the Foundation for Rural Education and Development (FRED). Each year, the Foundation for Rural Education and Development awards scholarships to rural America's most accomplished and intelligent students. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $5,000 and are funded by the FRED Scholarship Endowment and by donations to the FRED Annual Giving Campaign.
The J. Benedict Ackely Scholarship is open to any high school senior in the service area of a New York OPASTCO Telco member. If the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA he/she will receive an additional $2,000 award each subsequent year for a maximum for 4 years. This scholarship was made possible from a donation by the Ackely Family Charitable Trust.
You can even find me listed on FRED's Website as a scholarship recipient.

Susan Sutton Smith Student Award for Academic Excellence

As a sophomore at SUNY Oneonta, I was among 158 students to receive this honor. SUNY Oneonta's Alumni Association's Fund for Academic Excellence recognized students who, as a full-time freshman, sophomore, or junior, earned a GPA of 3.9 or higher in the fall 2009 semester. This award is presented annually to honor SUNY Oneonta's English professor Susan Sutton Smith.

Richard Siegfried Award for Academic Excellence

After completing my first full year at SUNY Oneonta, I was one of 43 students to receive this honor. The Richard Siegfried Award recognizes students who, in their first full year at Oneonta either as a full-time freshman or transfer student, earned a total GPA of 3.9 or higher. This award is presented annually to honor SUNY Oneonta's theater professor Richard Siegfried.

Dean's List

As a freshman at Ithaca College I made the Deans List both fall and spring semesters. At SUNY Oneonta I have been on the Deans List every semester since I transfered here (Fall 2009).

ServSafe

During the Fall 2009 semester at SUNY Oneonta I was required to take the ServSafe exam. This exam requires food service professionals to learn and understand food safety standards and how to utilize them in any food service operation. I earned my ServSafe certificate on November 16, 2009.

Food and Nutrition Association Active Membership

I have been an Active Member of SUNY Oneonta's Food and Nutrition Association since Fall 2009.  In order to be considered an Active Member one must attend ten general body meetings and participate in at least two events throughout the semester.
