Hello! My name is Cassandra Lloyd and I am currently a Dietetic Intern at Syracuse University. This internship consists of 1200 hours of supervised practice, as well as 13 graduate credits. I will complete this internship in May 2013. I previously earned my Bachelors of Science in Dietetics from the State University of New York College at Oneonta in May 2012.
Although dietetics is a broad field and it is important to be well-rounded, my true passion lies in nutrition education and communication. In my future I hope to work toward incorporating more nutrition education into the school setting because I truly believe that prevention is the key to curtailing the obesity epidemic that our country is currently facing. I am also interested in working in a corporate setting to do nutrition education and health promotion for food companies.
Within the next 3 years I hope to pass the RD exam and complete my Master's Degree in either Nutrition Education or Nutrition Communications. These credentials will allow me to pursue my career as a nutrition educator and hopefully make a neccessary change that our country truly needs.
